FOOD PANTRIES http://www.foodpantries.org/st/north_carolina

CLEANING SUPPLIES NEEDED

There is a huge need for cleaning supplies: I have been unable to find any link that addresses this in particular..so would suggest you check with local churches, food banks, etc. They will be the most likely source for knowing how you can help with this.

BLOOD:

##If you can give blood, especially Type O, there is a huge need for this..please check with your county health department for how you can help in your area.

Food banks are in great need of donations to help feed all the people displaced by the storm..here is a lnk for Central and Eastern NC food bank

**special note here: you can also donate funds…some food banks have a program where for every dollar donated, the food bank can provide several meals..please also consider this. http://www.foodbankcenc.org/site/PageNavigator/getinvolved_disaster.html

PLEASE NOTE: CHARITY NAVIGATOR:

This one is an especially important link: know how your charity rates, so your donation can do the most good…I cannot urge people enough to use this..many charities have such a small amount of money or donations go to the actual cause, they are wasting your efforts to help. Find out about rated food banks, shelters, etc, here:
